Who is MAZAK?
Yamazaki MAZAK created the company in 1919 and contributed to the development of the machine tool industry. He aspired to provide productivity and versatility with advanced machine tools such as multi-tasking centres, CNC turning centres, laser processing machines and also automation systems with the concept of DONE IN ONE. The company is everywhere and we can count almost 8400 employees through the world.
What about history now?
1919-1950: it was the beginning of the invention of new machines and especially the foundation of Yamazaki machinery in 1919. In 1928 it was about the development of the first commercial machine tool.
1951-1970: this was the era of expansion to overseas market with the introduction of Mazak brand and the production of Mazak lathers in 1963. Besides, there was a huge development for machines through the world for instance YMS-30 in 1976 or CNC lathe QUICK TURN 10 in 1981.
1991-2000: the company received many awards such as a best in the World Companies Award in 19991, the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement in 1992 and the Philip B Crosty Award in 1995.
2001-2010: new changes in the staff (CEO, Chairman) and there was the development of centres and multi-tasking machines. In 2010 the Yamazaki Mazak Museum of Art was created.
2011- Now: there are many relocations of centres, collaboration and openings of technology centres in Europe.
MAZAK’s secret as a leader: Global support network
The company has many assets thanks to its worldwide expansion. Indeed, it has 83 Technology Centres and Technical centres in 26 countries. Thus, they can respect customers’ requirements quickly and efficiently.
As far as the technology centres are concerned they are local bases to establish technology solutions to the clients by showing them the newest machines and by offering them advice and training. They are mainly located in Japan, Americas and Europe.
Now the technical centres are the support bases to supply high quality before and after sales service as well as support to customers on a local basis.
